Grilled Shrimp and Smoked Sausage Skewers

Inspired by lazy days hanging out at the park with a group of friends. Shrimp and sausage skewers are super easy to prepare ahead of time and will add a gourmet flair to the everyday cookout. Take your GrillGrates with you when you head out and never worry about the condition of the grill you will be cooking on again!

Grilled Shrimp and Smoked Sausage Skewers

Ingredients

32 medium sized shrimp, peeled and deveined

1.5 pounds (or more) smoked beef sausage

Your favorite BBQ rub

Your favorite BBQ sauce

8 wooden skewers

Vegetable oil spray

Directions

1Soak wooden skewers in water as early as you can so they do not burn while on the grill (overnight is fine)

2Cut smoked sausage into 32 equal sized pieces

3Assemble skewers by alternating four pieces of sausage with four pieces of shrimp

4Spray with vegetable oil and season with BBQ rub

Grilling Instructions

1Preheat grill to medium high (600F)

2Place skewers on grill and allow to cook for 5 minutes

3Flip skewers over and brush lightly with BBQ sauce

4Cook 3-4 more minutes and flip the skewers once more

5Brush lightly with BBQ sauce and cook another minute or so allowing the sauce to set on the skewers

6Remove to a serving plate and enjoy!
